Soft Landscape

Informed by Mongolian heritage and nomadic impressionsof a 'grassland life', the 'Soft Landscape' projectreimagines pastoral landscapes through brooches andearrings worn close to the body.The collection captures moments of interaction betweenanimals and the natural landscape across grassland,
water surfaces and open skies.Detailed surfaces of land, water and cloud, with subtlecolour transitions and layered textures, are created by aninnovative hybrid wool felting process that blends colourand fine-textured surfaces. In each piece, felt carriesimage, texture and atmosphere rather than simply actingas a soft background. Meanwhile small, finely detailed,metal animals and birds give each scene a sense ofaction and life.
'Soft Landscape' presents the grassland world as a tactileminiature landscape shaped by movement, craft andmaterial contrast.
